Why the name?

Assembled by a Core group of outdoorsmen (and women), photographers, surfers, explorers, climbers, hikers, hunters, and simply amazing human beings, CoreThird is comprised of a group of people who love each other and the earth.   We call this group TheCore and along with them, we strive to spend one third of our lives doing what we love, pursuing our passions and living life to its fullest; CoreThird

Why TheCore?

TheCore inspires and drives the design of all of our products, with each being built for a purpose, not a consumer.  They are the backbone of our product development, testing, and refinement.  Each piece of gear is tested and refined throughout some of the harshest environments on earth.  Meaning you can depend on it, no matter what direction adventure takes you.

Why Africa?

Zach Smith, an original member of TheCore has been involved in medical support and humanitarian disaster relief throughout many corners of the world.  We at CoreThird love the adventure of giving and have committed to supporting power, medical, water/sanitization projects, and economic development to impoverished areas of Nigeria and Kenya.  TheCore members will be leading a medical and a water well drilling team to Ozu Abam Nigeria in December 2016.  During this time we will provide surgical/medical training to Nigerian Doctors and care to remote rural villages around Upon This Rock Hospital in OZU.

Why You?

Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?   These words, from Mary Oliver’s poem, The Summer Day, inspire and remind us to live life to its fullest.

All our products are designed around the concept that they should be lightweight, ruggedized, and reliable.  Meaning you spend less time fussing with equipment and more time doing what you love.

Our goal at CoreThird is to inspire all to examine their limits and push past them.  Adventure is there if you choose.
